Thoughts on Ruth Bader Ginsburg

I wanted to give some thoughts on the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Not to Be Venerated

My political positions are no secret. I’m sure everyone knows that I didn’t side with Ginsburg on… probably anything. The amount of people I’ve seen who want to “honor her legacy” is mildly nauseating. She is, after all, a woman who was in favor of the wholesale slaughter of unborn children. Any person who uses their public office to protect the rights of child-murderers is not worthy of any respect. Nor should we venerate them in death “despite our differences.”

Two Types of People in the Gospel of John

There are many types of people in the world. We have ways of classifying people that significantly pares down the amount of categories available. Socioeconomic classification, geographical classification, ethnicity, what era of hardcore punk you like. It all serves to put people in neat boxes and wrap our minds around what defines a person, but there’s a significant classification of people that can reduce our options down to two: the people of God, and everyone else.
